Frequently asked questions
When does e-invoicing become mandatory?
For businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, from 1 January 2027. For smaller businesses, from 1 July 2027. A pilot phase starts on 1 July 2026.
What is an Accredited Service Provider?
A provider approved to connect businesses to the national e-invoicing system. Both issuers and recipients need to appoint one.
Does this replace VAT?
No. E-invoicing changes how invoices are issued and reported. Your VAT obligations stay the same, but invoice data will be visible to the authority much sooner.
Will my accounting software work?
It depends on the software and the service provider. We assess this during the readiness review.
